How to Increase Your CPS: The Ultimate 7-Day Clicking Training Routine
Success in competitive gaming isn’t just about having the best gaming mouse or the fastest Windows settings. At the end of the day, it comes down to muscle memory and finger dexterity. If you are stuck in the “Turtle” or “Rabbit” ranks, you need a structured plan to break through to the elite tiers.
We’ve designed a 7-day routine aimed at increasing your raw speed. This isn’t just about clicking more; it’s about training your nervous system to handle higher Clicks Per Second (CPS) without fatigue.
Day 1-2: Master the Fundamentals
Before you try to go fast, you must go correctly. Spend your first two days focusing on hand positioning. Are you using a claw grip or a palm grip? Use the Average CPS Test to establish a “Slow & Steady” baseline. Aim for 5-6 CPS with perfect accuracy.
Day 3-4: Technique Specialization
Now, pick your path. If you want high-vibration speed, spend 30 minutes practicing Jitter Clicking. If you prefer a rhythmic see-saw motion, head over to our Butterfly Clicking Guide. The goal here is “burst” training: click as fast as possible for 5 seconds, then rest for 15 seconds.
Day 5: The “Off-Hand” Challenge
Don’t ignore your middle finger. Improving your dexterity in secondary actions is vital for Minecraft bridging. Spend Day 5 using the Right Click CPS Test. This balances the muscle groups in your hand and improves your overall “Clicking Intelligence.”
Day 6: Endurance & The Spacebar
Speed is nothing without stamina. Use the Spacebar CPS Challenge to build thumb strength. Because the spacebar requires more force than a mouse button, it acts as “weight training” for your hand. 5 minutes of intense spacebar tapping will make your mouse clicks feel effortless tomorrow.
Day 7: The Final Benchmark
It’s time to see how far you’ve come. Return to the Main Mouse Clicker Test. Perform five 10-second runs and take your average. Compare your new score against our Kohi Click Test benchmarks to see if you’ve finally reached the Lightning rank.
Conclusion: Keep the Momentum
Increasing your CPS is a marathon, not a sprint. Even after the 7 days are up, keep using these drills. If you’re on the move, you can even practice your rhythm using the Mobile CPS Test on your phone.
